I'm Mark Fontecchio, news director in the enterprise applications group at TechTarget, an information technology media company in Newton, Mass. I have seven years of experience in IT publishing as an award-winning reporter, editor and manager. In my current role as news director, I set the editorial content strategy in TechTarget's enterprise applications group. I help guide editors and reporters toward user-focused stories that examine technological fixes to business problems for database and applications professionals. Part of this includes mentoring and training new writing talent in the media group. I also help lead the way in adopting various ways to drive traffic, including video, podcasts, social media and search engine optimization.
For the previous three years as a site and news editor, I focused on Oracle databases, applications and hardware as well as the Microsoft SQL Server database. Before that I covered topics such as mainframes and other server hardware, server CPUs, operating systems, and data center facilities.
I have spoken at IT webinars and conferences, and have served as a judge for IT award contests.
